InterBank Buyer Credit

InterBank Buyer's credit is granted for financing, indirectly through the buyer's bank, for the purchase of goods and/or services supplied under commercial contract concluded between Exporter and foreign buyer sucured by Trade Insurance policy. In this financing structure, ECFS provides credit to the buyer's bank, which lend it to the buyer .

Description of InterBank Credit

In transactions exceeding Tsh or EUR 20 million, the credit is provided in co-financing arrangement with involvement of commercial Bank(s). We participate in the financing of transactions less than Tshs or EUR 1 million on a case-by-case basis only, mainly in relation to transactions that are important for refernce value.

1. Period

Typically 2-5 years (maximum 10 Years ) depending on the terms and conditions of the related commercial agreement. Tenure of less than two years are principally available for the funding of agricultural or relatively small-value manufacturing industry Export transactions

2. Extent Of Financing

In the case of financing facilities offerd with a tenor exceeding two years at fixed interest, a maximum of 85% of the foreign trade/general contracting agreement may be financed. A minimum of 15% advance must be buyer at the start of performance.

3. Certificate Of Origin

For Export transaction financed by ECFS, it's necessary to certify the importer and exporter's origin of the product and/or services constituting the subject of the transaction

4. Currency & Interest

The base transactional currency is Tshs & USD. The interest is fixed(Only in the case of tenor over two years), or floating based on pricing in case of USD financing
